What if just for 1 minute God did not care for us? What if for 1 minute he did not stop the tricks and schemes of the enemy? What is for 1 minute God left us all alone? Oh how crazy our lives would be! In Deuteronomy 31:6 it says Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (NIV). That means that we don't have to be afraid or worried because even through out trials and trubilitation God is right there next to us helping us through whatever the situation is. When we get discouraged or dismayed we must learn to #reset! We have to stop and begin to think on good things! Then  keep moving on to greater things. The devil will use any avenue or way in that he can to stop the plan that God has for our lives! So starting today let us #reset and move on to greater. For today will be better than before!

Merenda Quarells
ChairLady - NM State Youth Department

Qualifications:
Merenda is the oldest daughter of Meldon and Brenda Quarells, the Pastors of Greater Works Ministries, in St. Louis MO. Growing up in the christian household Merenda always knew that God had a calling on her life. She began to work in the ministry at a very young age. She was very active in the Youth Minisry, Children's Ministry and Music Ministry. After graduating high school she worked in St. Louis MO at Emmanuel Outreach Ministries as the church secretary while attending college. During her time there, with the help of God, she was able to assist in the creation of the food pantry, create and run the summer youth program and partner with an alternative school, that was housed in the church's building, to create programs to help the stuidents with tutoring, social issues and community service. In 2006, she joined the United States Army National Guard where during her time at basic training she led the worship services and started a choir. Upon clompletion of basic training Merenda returned to St. Louis and began teaching at the alternative school. She sooned found that her love for teaching was far beyond more than she could imagine. She continued teaching for the next 7 years in grades KG and first grade in a christian private school named Scholar's Academy. Being able to teach her class not only the core subjects but also the bible has been the best parts of her life thus far. In, April 2013 God spoke to Merenda very clearly and told her that it was time to move from her homeland into a new place and once she got there he would work wonders in her life. Not sure what that meant Merenda began to build a closer relationship with God. After many days of prayer, in Apil 2014 Merenda moved to Albuquerque NM (never having coming to visit before) with nothing but $200.00, her clothes, a promise of a job and a prayer. On her 3rd night in NM she stumbled upon Faith Temple COGIC were they took her in with open arms. Since arriving Merenda has taken off running with ministry work. She lives by the saying "Whatever my hands find to do I will do it with all of my might". She looks forward to see the great things that God will do in her life, with her church family and with her natural family. She is also excited to start a Christian private school here in Albuquerque NM and to move her children Marcus (12), Mariah (10) Michael (7) and Malachi (3) to Albuquerque this summer.
